TrunkKarrier – Aluminum Tailgate Panel with Anchor Points for VW T5/T6/T6.1

What is the TrunkKarrier?

TrunkKarrier is a replacement for the original wooden paneling in the tailgate of Volkswagen Transporter, Caravelle, and Multivan vans. It offers various anchor points for straps, L-track accessories, a bottle opener, and more.

What improvements does it offer?

• Adds 8 L-track anchor points (rings not included) for securing loads or hanging accessories like a shower curtain.
• Multiple slots for horizontal and vertical straps.
• Several 10mm holes for attaching objects like QuickFist clamps or LED lights for trunk illumination.
• Compatible with the original trunk handle and electronic opener.
• Includes a bottle opener — what we call the "Key to Heaven".

How is it attached?

It mounts using the factory anchor points. You can use plastic clips or a combination of clips and threaded rivets with screws in the corners.

What tools do I need to install it?

• Torx T25 (to remove the handle)
• Plastic pry tools or thin flat screwdriver (to remove factory staples)

What is it made of?

Made of 2mm thick aluminum, powder coated in satin black. Weight is approximately 3 kg.

Which vans is it suitable for?

Fits Volkswagen T5, T6 and T6.1 Transporter, Caravelle, and Multivan vans.

Recommendations:

We recommend upgrading your gas struts. If your van originally came with a bike rack, it likely already has stronger struts. For setups with both a bike rack and the TrunkKarrier, we use a pair of 1200 NM gas struts.
