What a TrunkKarrier is?

TrunkKarrier is a replacement for the original wooden paneling in the tailgate of Volkswagen Transporter, Caravelle, and Multivan vans, offering different anchor points for straps, L-track anchors, a bottle opener, and more.

What improvements does it offer?

• Adds 8 L-track anchor points (rings not included) for greater versatility in securing loads or hanging a shower curtain, for example.
• Multiple slots for horizontal and vertical straps.
• Multiple 10mm holes for anchoring any type of object, such as QuickFist supports or lights to illuminate the trunk area.
• It is designed to mount the original trunk handle and electronic opener.
• Last but not least, it has a bottle opener, to what we call: Key to Heaven.

How is it attached?

It is attached using the factory anchor points. Both plastic clips and a combination of clips with threaded rivets and screws in the corners can be used.

What tools do I need to install it?

• Torx T-25 (To remove the handle)
• Panel trim remover / Thin flat screwdriver (To remove the plastic staples)

What is it made of?

It is made of 2mm thick aluminum and powder coated in black satin. Its weight is approximately 3KG.

Which vans is it suitable for?

The TrunkKarrier can be installed in Volkswagen Transporter, Caravelle and Multivan T5, T6 and T6.1 vans.

Recommendations:

We recommend to upgrade your gas struts. If your van has a bike rack that came out originally with the van, you probably already have them upgraded. In our case, for the bike rack and the TrunkKarrier, we use a pair of 1200 NM gas struts. 

LED Strip Kit

Now a LED Strip can be added to your TrunkKarrier panel. This includes a 1M black aluminum profile, and a waterproof LED strip pre-installed.

Comment if you want it "Ready to install" and we'll drill it for you, or "Free" if you prefer to do it yourself, depending on your setup.

We'll include the following to your order:

• 1x 1M Black aluminum profile.
• 2x Cap covers for the aluminum profile.
• 1M waterproof LED Strip.
• 4x Screws/Nuts/Washers.

* Please, note the option "Free" includes no drilling on the aluminum profile. 
** Please, note that some wiring is needed in order to make this functional, and no switch is included in the package, as each van is different.
