What is the Command?

The Command is part of our Copilot Series — a panel designed to mount on the sun visor area of VW T5, T6 and T6.1 vans. It allows you to securely install RAM L-Track bases and compatible accessories like GPS mounts, phone holders, radios, and more.

Why is it useful?

  • Creates a clean, fixed mounting area right above your windshield.
  • Compatible with RAM L-Track and standard RAM mounts (ball systems, arms, holders, etc.).
  • Ideal for navigation systems, tablets, phones, or dash equipment.
  • Keeps your gear visible and accessible without blocking your field of view.
  • Includes two small slots (on each side) for cable management — ideal for routing wires if you're powering a device like a GPS or dash cam.

How is it attached?

The panel uses the existing visor mounting points and requires no major modification to the vehicle. It fits between the visor and the roof liner, using the factory hardware.

What tools do I need to install it?

  • Torx T20 screwdriver
  • Plastic pry

What is it made of?

Laser-cut from lightweight aluminum with a black textured powder-coated finish for durability and an OEM-style look.

Which vans is it suitable for?

Designed for Volkswagen T5,T6 and T6.1 models with original visors. Not tested with the California's sun blockers, it may interfere.

Additional information:

  • Sold as a single unit (1 panel).
  • RAM accessories and mounts not included.
  • After installation, the sun visor will no longer tilt fully downward. However, the movement reduction is minimal and does not affect visibility or usability.

Installation tips:

Each sun visor is held in place on 2 sides — two near the center of the van, and two near the side windows. You only need to remove the screws closest to the rearview mirror.

  • Lower both visors.
  • Remove the plastic cover with the plastic pry.
  • Remove the two inner screws (closest to the rearview mirror area).
  • Align the two mounting holes on the Command panel by centering it with the overhead console and matching them with the factory holes. Once aligned, reinstall the screws.
  • Reinstall the screws and tighten them securely.
